MIA builds Australia’s first expo iPhone App for ad:tech

iPhone App guides ad:tech attendees through the two day Sydney event

Australian mobile internet solutions provider, MIA International, has developed the first iPhone Application for the Australian digital marketing event, ad:tech. The ad:tech iPhone “App” will guide the event’s attendees through the program at the two day conference, which runs from 16 - 17th March at the Sydney Conference & Exhibition Centre in Darling Harbour, Sydney.  The ad:tech App is already available from the Apple App Store.

Users of the ad:tech iPhone App will have up-to-the-minute details about the agenda, the 160+ speakers and what they do, information about the exhibitors and background to the event’s sponsors.  Via the app, users will be able to access and contribute to the ad:tech’s Twitter streams wherever they go.

“The ad:tech iPhone App is a truly interactive, in your pocket, way to access all the critical information about this year’s event and we are excited to be the first Australian exhibition and conference to make an iPhone App available to all of our attendees to make their experience even better,” said Mark Abay, Director, ad:tech Sydney.

According to Mark, the successful digital marketing event, now in its fourth year, has been able to reduce the amount of paper it uses because of its new iPhone App, as the event’s organisers have been able to reduce the print run on its event guides.

“We chose MIA International to develop our mobile presence for this year’s ad:tech because we believe it is one of the most experienced companies in the Australian market for executing mobile content solutions . The MIA team has done a fantastic job and we are delighted to be more environmentally friendly by reducing the number of event guides we’ll print for this year’s event,” concluded Mark Abay.

At ad:tech, MIA will be exhibiting at booth 21 in the exhibition hall, where the company will be showcasing some of the great work it has been doing for companies like Woolworths, Trading Post, BigPond and Motorola.  At Ad:tech, MIA will also be introducing Device Digital, a new business unit which will focus on partnering with advertising and media agencies to help them deliver effective mobile solutions for their clients.  The new business unit will be officially launched in April.

MIA CEO Richard Mergler added: “We are thrilled to be involved in ad:tech in what is expected to be very strong growth year for MIA, not only because we have developed the first Australian iPhone App for the expo, but also because we are excited about our new venture that is being launched in a month’s time.”
