 IAB Australia board elects new Chairman


Nic Cola, Fairfax Digital COO, has been appointed as the incoming Chairman for IAB Australia.Unanimously voted to the role by the IAB Australia Board, Mr Cola will work closely with CEO Paul Fisher to promote the continued growth and success of the interactive advertising industry in Australia.

In announcing the appointment, the IAB Australia Board also recognised and thanked exiting Chairman Rohan Lund for his leadership of the Board; and his personal support and guidance for Paul Fisher over the past 12 months.

Mr Cola will be the principal contact and reference for Paul Fisher between monthly Board meetings, will oversee the roll out of IAB Australia’s upcoming strategies; and Chair all IAB Australia Board meetings in accordance with industry best practice and current corporate governance legislation.

Mr Cola commented: “I’m honoured to be appointed Chairman and look forward to working with both Paul Fisher and the IAB members over the next year. We will be working towards two key goals for the year – advancing our efforts regarding online measurement and ensuring we build awareness and trust in online as a brand building medium for marketers.”

Exiting Chairman Rohan Lund commented: “Over the past year the IAB has taken a strong and positive role in driving the industry in difficult economic times. I’m pleased to have been part of this renewed investment in the IAB by the important industry players and I welcome Nic to the role of Chairman. There is still a lot of work to be done to further demonstrate the value of online advertising but we’re definitely on the right track.”

The appointment is effective immediately.
