Qualys TRU Research Finds Manual Remediation Can’t Keep Up As Exploitation Hits ‘Negative One Day’
New Qualys TRU research reveals a widening gap between attacker exploitation speed and defender remediation capacity, with exploitation now occurring before disclosure and manual remediation unable to keep pace with machine-speed threats.
Qualys’ The Broken Physics of Remediation report finds vulnerability volumes have grown 6.5x in four years, while attackers are exploiting vulnerabilities faster than security teams can remediate them. The research highlights the need for risk-based prioritisation, autonomous remediation and a shift toward a Risk Operations Centre model.
