IAB Australia Measurement Council moves on auto refresh guidelines

IAB Australia today announced that its Measurement Council is drafting guidelines and best practice for the application of auto-refresh following a review of the practice, measurement and reporting of auto-refresh of web content in the Australian market. The guidelines, which are being drafted in collaboration with the MFA and AANA, are expected to be published for industry wide comment by the end of March 2010.

Online Advertising continues strong double digit growth through 2009

Australia’s online advertising market has continued to defy the broader advertising market decline, recording strong double digit growth to reach $1.87billion for the full calendar year 2009. The results, which were released today by IAB Australia in its Online Advertising Expenditure Report (OAER) compiled by PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), also showed that online advertising reached $978.75 million for the last six months of 2009, suggesting that the industry is on track to exceed $2billion in the current financial year.

Seagate Technology Reports Fiscal Second Quarter 2010 Financial Results

Seagate Technology (NASDAQ: STX) today reported financial results for the quarter ended January 1, 2010 of 49.9 million disk drive unit shipments, revenue of $3.03 billion, gross margin of 30.5%, net income of $533 million and diluted earnings per share of $1.03. The financial results for the quarter include $10 million of purchased intangibles amortization expense or approximately $0.02 per diluted share.
