Following a competitive tender, Dimension Data and McAfee have been appointed by CenITex to provide an integrated threat and vulnerability management solution to improve end-to-end information security efficiency and optimise information security management across the organisation. The value of the contract has not been disclosed.

Technology obsolescence something to sweat about

The total percentage of network devices which have passed last-day-of-support (LDoS) has dropped dramatically from 31% in 2009 to 9% in 2010. However, the total amount of technology late in the obsolescence phase remains high, with the percentage of devices in late stage end-of-life sitting at a substantial 47%. This could be evidence that more organisations are choosing to sweat assets up to, but not beyond, the highest risk lifecycle stage.

IAB Australia reports record number of entries for 2011 Awards

Judging is now open until mid June and finalists will be announced shortly after then. Online advertising hits record Q1 expenditure of $601m

The Australian online advertising market has continued its strong upward trend, with online advertising expenditure for the March quarter 2011 growing 17 percent year-on-year. The data, which was released today by IAB Australia in its Online Advertising Expenditure Report (OAER) compiled by PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), showed online expenditure for the first three months of 2011 totalled $601 million - the largest ever Q1 recorded.
